Freelance Electrical Engineer (Part-Time, 12-Month Contract)

Location: Munich, Germany
Commitment: 5–10 hours per week (with increased workload approaching CE Certification) (can be very flexible but need someone onsite close)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Freelance Electrical Engineer to provide part-time support to our client within the Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) and Robotics sector. The ideal candidate will be based in Bavaria and able to assist on short notice. This role combines hands-on electrical work with contribution to electrical system design, playing an essential part in preparing systems for CE Certification.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Assembly & Integration
Assemble electrical cabinets and enclosures.
Pull and route wiring through the vehicle chassis.
Install, terminate, and test electrical components.
Electrical Design Support
Assist with creating and updating electrical schematics and documentation.
Support the design and refinement of electrical systems for AGV platforms.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure compliance with safety and certification standards.
Certification Preparation
Support documentation and technical requirements for CE Certification, with increasing involvement as the certification process approaches.

Requirements

Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in electrical assembly, wiring, or panel building—ideally within robotics, automation, or vehicle systems.
Familiarity with electrical design tools (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar).
Understanding of CE standards and compliance processes is a strong advantage.
Ability to work independently, manage a part-time schedule, and respond quickly to short-notice tasks.
Must be based in Bavaria with the ability to visit client sites when required.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
