Forward Deployed Engineer — Washington, D.C.

About the Role
A specialized technology and data consulting organization is seeking a motivated, curious, and data-driven Forward Deployed Engineer to join its growing team.
In this role, you will leverage your Palantir Foundry expertise, quantitative mindset, and technical skills to solve complex customer problems directly on-site in Washington, D.C.
You will operate as an integrated technical expert between customer and product teams, translating mission requirements into technical solutions, actionable roadmaps, data products, and operational workflows.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders, and able to move between data engineering, platform configuration, analysis, and business problem-solving.
Responsibilities
On-Site Technical Execution: Work directly with customer teams on-site, providing forward-deployed technical solutions and hands-on support.
Platform Configuration & Data Engineering: Use SQL and Python to configure platforms, integrate structured and unstructured data sources, and support containerized deployments using technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a primary technical interface for senior stakeholders, facilitating data analysis, technical discussions, and scenario modeling.
Mission Enablement: Develop mission-specific workflows, dashboards, applications, and operational tools that translate complex analysis into actionable capabilities.
Performance Optimization: Diagnose and resolve issues in production environments, conduct root-cause analysis, and optimize systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Technical Leadership: Lead technical workstreams, mentor team members, and contribute to the development of best practices and institutional knowledge.
Customer Partnership: Work closely with customer and internal teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable Foundry solutions.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required.
Proven, hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
3–7 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering, analytics, software engineering, national security, defense, or a related technical domain.
Strong technical experience with Python and SQL.
Experience working with complex datasets and translating analytical requirements into production solutions.
Ability to work directly with customers and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong written, verbal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment with significant ownership and autonomy.
Preferred Experience
Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other cloud environments.
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or containerized applications.
Familiarity with Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), defense acquisition, program management, PPBE, or OSINT.
Experience supporting government, defense, national security, or other mission-critical environments.
Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline.
Experience working in startup, consulting, or entrepreneurial environments.
Experience building operational workflows, dashboards, or applications within Palantir Foundry.
Experience presenting technical findings or recommendations to senior government or executive stakeholders.
