We are supporting a leading international company in the food manufacturing sector that is looking for an experienced Freelance Packaging Engineer to support an urgent regulatory and supplier engagement project.
Role Overview
The successful consultant will support the packaging function during a critical period, helping to coordinate with packaging suppliers and assist with the creation of a new packaging register in preparation for upcoming legislation.
This is a fast-moving project with strong internal backing due to its urgency.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with and follow up on packaging suppliers to gather required technical information
Support the development of a new packaging register aligned with upcoming regulatory requirements
Provide technical input on packaging materials and packaging machinery
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure packaging data accuracy and compliance
Assist the packaging team with ad-hoc engineering and documentation tasks
Ideal Profile
Proven experience as a Packaging Engineer, ideally within the food or FMCG industry
Strong knowledge of packaging materials and packaging machinery
Comfortable working with suppliers and cross-functional teams
Proactive, communicative, and confident in stakeholder engagement (an extroverted profile works well in this environment)
Experience supporting packaging compliance or regulatory documentation is advantageous
Language Requirements
English – mandatory
German – beneficial
