Our client is a leading manufacturing company based in Leuven, currently seeking a freelance NIS2 Consultant to support their ongoing cybersecurity and compliance initiatives. The company is committed to strengthening its information security governance and aligning with the latest EU directives and standards.
Role Overview
The NIS2 Consultant will play a key role in assessing, planning, and implementing the measures required for NIS2 compliance. Working closely with IT, OT, and business stakeholders, you will help develop and maintain a security governance framework that aligns with ISO 27001 and other relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the current cybersecurity and risk management framework against NIS2 requirements.
- Develop and implement a compliance roadmap to achieve NIS2 alignment within defined timelines.
- Support the setup and enhancement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) in line with ISO 27001.
- Define, document, and maintain security policies, controls, and procedures for key NIS2 domains (risk management, incident response, business continuity, etc.).
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across IT, OT, and business units to ensure a consistent and pragmatic approach to compliance and risk management.
- Monitor and report on progress toward NIS2 compliance objectives.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in IT and cybersecurity governance, compliance, or risk management.
- Proven experience with NIS2 Directive implementation or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 27001 and ISMS implementation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business domains.
- Fluent in English and Dutch.
Desirable:
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISM, CISSP, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer.
- Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sectors (IT/OT environments).

- Location: Leuven, Belgium (Hybrid – 3–4 days WFH per week)
