Infoblox Network Engineer (Contract – 3 Months | Potential Full-Time Conversion)

Duration: 3 Months (Strong Potential for Full-Time Conversion)
Rate: $100/hour (C2C or 1099) – Based on Experience
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Infoblox Network Engineer to support a critical enterprise DNS/DHCP/IPAM (DDI) environment. This is a hands-on, architecture-level role focused on design, standardization, optimization, and advanced troubleshooting within an enterprise-scale Infoblox deployment.
The ideal consultant will be deeply experienced with Infoblox core services and able to provide both strategic guidance and operational execution. In addition, this role requires expertise supporting or leading SonicWall to Check Point firewall migrations, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption.
This engagement may convert into a full-time role based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Infoblox / DDI Engineering
Architect, design, and standardize enterprise Infoblox environments
Optimize DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) architecture for scalability and resilience
Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across DNS resolution, IP conflicts, replication, and grid issues
Configure and manage Infoblox Grid, HA pairs, reporting, and automation features
Develop configuration standards and governance documentation
Support upgrades, migrations, and integration with enterprise security platforms
Provide best-practice guidance around DDI security, compliance, and segmentation
Firewall Migration (SonicWall → Check Point)
Lead or support migration from SonicWall firewalls to Check Point platforms
Translate policies, NAT rules, and VPN configurations
Perform rulebase cleanup, optimization, and standardization
Design secure migration strategies minimizing downtime
Validate security posture post-migration
Support Check Point policy installation, clustering, and high availability
Required Skills & Experience
Infoblox Expertise
5+ years hands-on Infoblox experience in enterprise environments
Deep expertise in DNS, DHCP, and IPAM architecture
Experience with Infoblox Grid Manager, HA configuration, and reporting
Strong troubleshooting skills at protocol level (DNS, TCP/IP, routing fundamentals)
Experience designing and documenting DDI standards
Firewall & Security
Proven experience migrating from SonicWall to Check Point
Strong understanding of:
NAT policies
VPN configurations (Site-to-Site & Remote Access)
Security zones and segmentation
Rulebase optimization
Experience with Check Point SmartConsole and policy management
Networking Fundamentals
Strong routing and switching knowledge (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, ACLs)
Understanding of firewall integrations with DDI
Knowledge of security best practices and Zero Trust concepts
Nice to Have
Infoblox certification (NIAP / NIOS / Core DDI)
Check Point certification (CCSA / CCSE)
Experience with automation (Python, REST APIs, Ansible)
Experience in regulated industries (Financial Services, Healthcare, Enterprise Retail)
