Mechanical Design Engineer – Automotive Innovation
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Precision Mechanical Design Engineer to join our cutting-edge automotive engineering team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about designing high-performance mechanical components and systems that meet the demanding standards of the modern automotive industry.
As part of our innovation team, you will contribute to the development of advanced vehicle systems, with a strong focus on lightweight design, structural optimization, and manufacturability. You’ll be working on components that directly impact performance, efficiency, and driver experience.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for automotive applications, focusing on structural integrity, weight reduction, and performance
Perform detailed 3D CAD modeling and create 2D technical drawings for manufacturing and quality control
Conduct tolerance analyses and ensure alignment with GD&T principles and industry standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, controls, and manufacturing engineers
Participate in design reviews, FMEA sessions, and root cause analysis for product improvements
Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for both prototype and production phases
Support the testing and validation of mechanical systems under various operating conditions
Optimize designs based on simulation data (e.g., FEA, thermal analysis, vibration)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Solid experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive or mobility sector
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks)
Strong knowledge of mechanical principles including kinematics, strength of materials, and thermal effects
Familiarity with DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) best practices
Experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) is a plus
Understanding of automotive development processes and quality standards (e.g., APQP, ISO/TS 16949)
Strong communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
