Interim Management Accountant (6 months)
Location: Greater Manchester (Hybrid working)
Contract: Interim, full time (35 hours per week)
Rate: Competitive
A Housing Association in Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to support the finance team during a busy period. This 6-month contract offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting budget holders and delivering high-quality management accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journals, ensuring accurate management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
Support the production of monthly management packs, analysing variances and identifying financial risks or opportunities.
Provide financial advice and training to budget holders, challenging overspends and supporting improved financial performance.
Use KPIs and business performance data to produce insightful commentary.
Assist with statutory and regulatory returns, year-end working papers, and business planning.
Requirements:
AAT qualified (or qualified by experience).
Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems skills.
Ability to partner with budget holders and non-finance stakeholders effectively.
Proven experience in management accounting, ideally within housing, not-for-profit, or public sector organisations.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
