About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Licensing Officer with a strong background in animal licensing to join our team. This role involves ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and maintaining high standards of animal welfare across licensed premises.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and review applications for animal-related licenses (e.g., boarding, breeding, pet shops).
• Conduct inspections of licensed premises to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Investigate complaints and take enforcement action where necessary.
• Provide advice and guidance to applicants and license holders on licensing conditions.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience in animal licensing or a similar regulatory role.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Animal Welfare Act, licensing regulations).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage caseloads and work to deadlines.
• Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.

Desirable:

• Experience in local authority licensing.
• Knowledge of other licensing areas (e.g., alcohol, taxi, premises).
