Job Description

Vivid are currently working with a Local Authority client in the East Midlands who are looking for an experienced licensing officer to join the team for 12 months maternity cover.

The client is looking for specialist applicants, that can help manage the workload that the council have been having recently. The positions are for a minimum of 3 months, with an extension incredibly likely.

Main Responsibilities:

The role will require the applicant to undertake a range of responsibilities throughout Licensing, but the main role will mainly consist of the following:

  • Supporting the licensed and law-abiding taxi and private hire trade to ensure the highest standards of passenger safety, operation, and compliance with regulations, by deterring and detecting non-compliant and illegal activity.
  • Understanding the processes within the council regarding applications and processing for licences.
  • Using the knowledge of Licensing Legislation to complete personal and transfer processes.
  • Reporting breaches of legislation and regulations.
