Lead Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in SolidWorks and a proven background in the food processing and machine building industry. This role will lead mechanical design efforts from concept through production, ensuring innovative, hygienic, and manufacturable equipment solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design and development of custom food processing and automated machinery systems
Create and review 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks
Ensure designs comply with food safety, sanitary, and industry standards
Oversee prototyping, testing, and design validation
Collaborate with electrical, controls, manufacturing, and project management teams
Mentor junior engineers and drive design best practices
Support installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
7+ years of experience in machine design within food processing or industrial equipment manufacturing
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks
Strong knowledge of hygienic design principles and relevant industry standards
Experience leading engineering teams and managing projects
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
