Job Description – Junior Nucleair Chemical Consultant
Location: Belgium (5 days on-site)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Freelance (12 months+, extension possible)
Languages: Dutch (mandatory)
Security Clearance: Required (can be obtained during assignment)
About the Role
For a long-term project within the nuclear sector, we are looking for a Junior Nucleair Chemical Consultant to support ongoing activities at operational nuclear sites in Belgium. This position is ideal for a recently graduated or early-career professional with a Master’s degree in Nuclear Chemistry who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a highly regulated technical environment.
Responsibilities
Support chemical processes related to nuclear materials and waste management
Perform chemical analyses and interpret laboratory results
Assist in monitoring and optimizing nuclear chemical processes
Ensure compliance with nuclear safety regulations and quality standards
Contribute to technical reporting and documentation
Collaborate closely with engineers, safety officers, and operations teams
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within a controlled industrial environment
Profile
Master’s degree in Nuclear Chemistry (or equivalent)
Strong interest in the nuclear industry and industrial chemical processes
Analytical, precise, and safety-oriented mindset
Willing to work full-time on-site
Dutch-speaking (mandatory due to operational and safety requirements)
Eligible to obtain nuclear security clearance
