Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Freelance Backend Java Developer to support the backend development of a newly implemented software platform. You will play a key role in building, maintaining, and optimising backend services while contributing to the overall technical maturity and Java proficiency of the development environment.
Working closely with product owners, architects, and fellow developers, you will help ensure scalable, reliable, and high-quality backend solutions aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend components of the company’s software platform using Java technologies.
Work extensively with Spring and Spring Boot to build RESTful services and backend logic.
Design, implement, and optimise database interactions using SQL.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, QA, DevOps) to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement and proficiency of Java development practices within the team.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability.
Support the enhancement and stabilisation of the software following its implementation.
Troubleshoot and resolve backend-related issues across development and production environments.
Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
Document technical solutions, designs, and development processes where required.

Candidate Requirements
Proven experience as a Backend Java Developer in professional software development environments.
Strong hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
Solid knowledge of SQL and database-driven applications.
Good understanding of backend architecture, APIs, and data flows.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently in a freelance setup while collaborating with on-site teams.
Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
