Interim Reactive Maintenance Service Provider Lead
Location: Mostly Remote (occasional office presence)
Contract: 6 months initial (Outside IR35)
About the Role:
The Council is embarking on an exciting journey to appoint a new Reactive Maintenance Service Provider. To support this critical project, we are seeking an experienced and technically savvy Reactive Maintenance Service Provider Lead to join us on an interim basis. This role will be pivotal in setting up the new service provider framework, working closely with a multifaceted organisation engaged in the tendering process to provide new supplier
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants to support the tender process.
- Act on behalf of the council, working closely with the 3rd party organisation ensuring the council’s best interests are adhered to in the tendering process
Apply strong technical knowledge of maintenance operations to ensure tender requirements are fit for purpose.
Provide commercial insight and procurement expertise to drive value and compliance throughout the tender.
Ensure smooth transition and mobilisation of the new service provider in line with council standards.
Who We’re Looking For:
Extensive background in maintenance operations, preferably reactive maintenance.
Proven experience in procurement and managing service provider tender processes.
Technically minded with the ability to understand and challenge maintenance service specifications.
Commercially astute with a strong grasp of contract and supplier management.
Confident working remotely with occasional attendance at council offices as required.
Contract Details:
Initial 12-month fixed-term contract, with strong likelihood of extension for 18 months
Flexible working, predominantly remote with some in-person meetings.
