For a banking customer in Brussels, we are searching for a Legal Advisor to be part of a team of four lawyers. It is very important that candidates can get up to speed quickly, therefore it is a pre-requisite to have Belgian taxation knowledge within banking.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring regulatory developments relevant to the banking sector, particularly on tax matters, ensuring their correct interpretation, and contributing to their implementation within the bank.
- Knowledge of tax – added value (VAT)
- You provide legal support to the bank’s operational departments.
- You conduct legal reviews of contracts with our partners.
- You are responsible for tax-related matters.
- You handle customer complaints submitted to the Ombudsman.
Profile
- Master’s degree in law with at least 2 years of professional experience in Belgian banking law.
- Expertise in taxation / knowledge of tax – added value (VAT)
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Rigorous and meticulous.
- Strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication and writing skills.
- Knowledge of the banking sector and financial markets.
- You are a team player, hands-on, and able to think proactively and propose realistic solutions tailored to the constraints of our sector.
