Assignment Overview
We are looking for an experienced Interim Finance Manager to support the business during a 6-month transition period and ensure a smooth handover and continuity within the finance function. This is a highly operational and hands-on role, requiring someone who can quickly integrate into the team, manage priorities effectively, and provide strong leadership while remaining close to day-to-day finance activities.
The successful candidate will manage a team of 5 finance professionals and play a key role in maintaining financial operations, supporting process improvements, and ensuring strong communication across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a finance team of 5 team members.
- Oversee supplier accounting and billing activities.
- Take ownership of annual accounting processes.
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitor and validate accounting allocations and accruals.
- Prepare and review monthly VAT returns.
- Manage cash planning and liquidity forecasting.
- Support budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
- Ensure finance processes continue smoothly throughout the transition period.
- Drive operational improvements and identify opportunities for process enhancement.
- Act as a hands-on leader, supporting both strategic and daily finance activities.
Candidate Profile
- 10–15 years of relevant finance experience.
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager position with direct team leadership responsibilities.
- Strong people management skills and experience leading teams.
- Comfortable operating in a highly hands-on and operational environment.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Team-oriented leader who is approachable and works closely with colleagues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for process improvement and finance operations.
- Experience in annual accounting, VAT, cash planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reconciliations.
Required Skills
- Exact Online experience is mandatory.
- Fluent Dutch is required.
- Professional English is required.
- Working knowledge of French is required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and finance operations.
