🏗️ Interim Building Control Surveyor (Class 3H) – Essex
Contract: Rolling 3-month contract (First 6 months guaranteed)
Location: Essex (Hybrid – 2 days in the office)

We’re working with a forward-thinking Essex local authority seeking an experienced Class 3H Building Control Surveyor to join their team on an interim basis. This hybrid role offers the security of a guaranteed 6-month contract, followed by a rolling 3-month extension model.
🔍 The Role:
You’ll manage a varied caseload, ensuring full compliance with Building Regulations across commercial and residential developments. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a well-organised, supportive Building Control team in the Southeast.
✅ Responsibilities:
Review and approve building control applications
Carry out site inspections and ensure regulatory compliance
Advise developers, architects, and contractors on standards and requirements
Investigate reports of dangerous structures or unauthorised works
Maintain clear records and reports in line with statutory requirements
📌 Requirements:
Valid Class 3H registration under the BSR regime
Strong local authority building control experience
In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations and relevant legislation
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
📍 Location & Working Pattern:
Based in Essex, with 2 days per week in the office
Hybrid working supported (3 days remote)
