Freelance Instrumentation & Control Engineer (Process / Functional Safety)

We are currently looking for an experienced Instrumentation & Control Engineer with a strong background in process and functional safety to support ongoing projects in the oil & gas / petrochemical sector.
This is a hybrid freelance role based near Bremen, offering full-time engagement until the end of the year.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering and support of instrumentation and control systems for process facilities
Contribution to process safety and functional safety activities (e.g. safety studies, SIL-related work)
Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams on oil & gas / petrochemical projects
Review and preparation of technical documentation and specifications
Interface with clients, vendors, and internal engineering teams
Key Requirements
5+ years of experience as an Instrumentation & Control Engineer
Proven experience in oil & gas and/or petrochemical projects
Solid knowledge of process safety and functional safety principles
Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
EU passport or German permanent residency (mandatory)
Availability for full-time freelance work until year-end
