Job Title: HSE Officer (Health, Safety & Environment)

Project: Amazon Warehouse Construction
Contract Duration: 6th April – 25th June
Start Details:
6th April: Home office (induction/onboarding week)
13th April: Site-based work begins
Working Hours:
40 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Occasional Saturday work as required
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Officer to support health, safety, and environmental compliance on a major Amazon warehouse construction project in Vienna. This is a short-term contract ideal for candidates available at short notice and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with local HSE regulations and project-specific safety standards
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Monitor and enforce safe working practices across all contractors and subcontractors
Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and inductions
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions
Maintain accurate HSE documentation and reporting
Liaise with site management and stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture
Requirements
Proven experience in an HSE role within construction projects
Fluency in English (German language skills are advantageous but not essential)
EU passport holder or permanent Austrian resident
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
Ability to start at short notice
Desirable
Previous experience working on Amazon construction projects
Relevant HSE certifications or qualifications
