Job Title: HSE Manager

Role Overview
Act as the primary HSE Manager on a major petrochemical construction and maintenance site in Antwerp.
Ensure full compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, site rules, and client standards.
Take responsibility for improving and maintaining a strong safety culture across all site activities.
Key Responsibilities
Review, follow, update, and write HSE plans to manage and close out unfinished work left by previous subcontractors.
Identify outstanding HSE risks related to incomplete works and implement corrective actions and safe systems of work.
Oversee and manage a team of HSE Site Supervisors, ensuring consistent application of safety procedures across the site.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and non-compliance.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures.
Coordinate closely with construction managers, subcontractors, and client representatives on all HSE matters.
Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and record-keeping in line with legal and project requirements.
Provide HSE briefings, toolbox talks, and training where required to site personnel.
Requirements
Must hold minimum Level 2 HSE certification (VCA/Safety Level 2 or equivalent).
Proven experience as an HSE Manager or Senior HSE Supervisor on petrochemical or heavy industrial sites.
Strong knowledge of Belgian and European HSE regulations and best practices.
Experience managing and coordinating HSE teams and site safety supervisors.
Ability to develop, review, and implement HSE plans and procedures.
Strong problem-solving skills and experience dealing with legacy or unfinished subcontractor works.
Fluent in Dutch and English (both spoken and written).
Strong communication and leadership skills in high-risk industrial environments.
