Housing Options Officer – South East (Hybrid)

We’re currently working with a Local Authority in the South East who are looking to bring in an experienced Housing Options Officer to support their team during a busy period.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone confident in managing a varied caseload and delivering high-quality housing advice in line with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of housing options and homelessness prevention cases
- Conducting assessments in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
- Producing Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs)
- Making S184 decisions
- Working with applicants to prevent homelessness and secure sustainable housing solutions
- Liaising with internal departments and external agencies
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Housing Options Officer within a Local Authority
- Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and case law
- Experience handling S184 decisions and prevention/relief duties
- Ability to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
