Housing Options Officer – West Midlands

We are currently supporting a local authority in the West Midlands seeking an experienced Housing Options Officer to join their team on a 6-month interim contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive homelessness professional with strong knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017) and experience managing a varied caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting homelessness assessments and determining statutory duties
Providing housing advice and prevention/relief interventions
Managing a caseload in line with legislation and local procedures
Issuing legally sound decision letters (s184, s189A, s202 etc.)
Working in partnership with internal and external agencies
Requirements:
Previous experience in a Housing Options/Homelessness Officer role
Strong working knowledge of relevant homelessness legislation
Experience working in a local authority setting
Ability to work independently and attend the office 2 days per week
