Job Title: Housing Officer (Tenancy & ASB Support)
Contract: 4 months initially (likely extension up to 6 months)
Working Pattern: Hybrid (home-based with patch visits as required)
Location: Nottinghamshire
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join a busy housing management team on an interim basis. This role will provide additional capacity and operational support to permanent Housing Officers, helping manage caseload pressures and respond to priority tenancy and anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases.
Unlike traditional patch-based roles, this position will operate in a flexible support capacity, assisting across multiple patches depending on service demand.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing their own diary, and responding to reactive issues on the day, including attending estates, properties, or offices where required.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a significant proportion of administrative work undertaken from home, alongside patch visits when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational support to the Housing Management team across multiple housing patches.
Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, working closely with residents, internal teams, and partner agencies.
Carry out tenancy management duties, including tenancy breaches, tenancy sustainment, and resident support.
Respond to reactive housing management issues and attend properties or estates when required.
Conduct home visits, estate inspections, and resident meetings where necessary.
Support permanent Housing Officers by assisting with caseload pressures and priority cases.
Maintain accurate case records and update housing management systems.
Liaise with internal departments such as repairs, income, and safeguarding teams to resolve tenancy-related issues.
Work with external partners including local authorities, police, and support services when managing ASB cases.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with housing policies, legislation, and best practice.
Working Style
Hybrid working with administrative work completed from home where possible.
Self-managed diary, allowing flexibility to plan visits and casework.
Ability to respond to urgent issues and travel to patches at short notice when required.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience working as a Housing Officer, Neighbourhood Officer, or Tenancy Officer within a housing association or local authority.
Strong experience handling ASB cases and tenancy management matters.
Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied workload.
Experience carrying out resident visits and estate-based work.
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
Confident working across multiple patches or supporting wider housing teams.
Experience using housing management systems and maintaining accurate case records.
Desirable
Experience working in a high-volume housing management environment.
Knowledge of housing legislation and ASB enforcement tools.
Full UK driving licence and access to transport (depending on patch requirements).
