Vivid Resourcing are currently working with a local authority in the West Midlands who are looking to recruit a housing disrepair lawyer for an interim 6 month rolling contract to cover a permanent recruitment drive.
Key Details:
Role: Housing Disrepair Lawyer
Type: Locum
Hours: Full-Time (Although 3 days or more would be considered)
Location: Midlands-based authority
Working Pattern: Fully Remote (Once per month attendance ideal but not required)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing (initial 3-6 months, with potential extension)
Rate: Competitive hourly rate (DOE, umbrella)
Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of housing disrepair matters
- Handling cases from pre-action protocol stage through to litigation if necessary
- Providing legal advice to housing officers and internal departments
- Drafting pleadings and liaising with external solicitors and counsel where appropriate
Requirements:
- Strong experience in housing disrepair work, ideally within a local authority or housing association
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Ideally Qualified solicitor, legal executive, or barrister, but non qualified candidates could also be considered
