Role Overview
We’re seeking an experienced and detail-driven Assessment Officer to manage all aspects of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support. In this fully remote role, you’ll process new claims, handle changes in circumstances, and administer Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a structured, autonomous environment and is ready to join a motivated team.
Key Responsibilities
Process new claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support efficiently and accurately.
Handle changes in circumstances throughout the claims lifecycle.
Administer Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) in line with policy and urgency.
Use OneRevs and Bens (Academy) systems to record, validate, and update case information.
Ensure compliance with current legislation, regulations, and internal procedures.
Provide clear communication with claimants-via email, phone, or online portal-regarding claim statuses and any follow‑up requirements.
Requirements
Prior experience in Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support administration.
Proficiency with OneRevs and Bens (Academy) systems.
Strong organisational skills and personal accountability.
Keen eye for detail; ability to maintain accurate records.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Comfortable working remotely and managing your workload within core hours (7:30 am-6:00 pm).
