Job Title: Head of Accounting (Freelance / Interim)
Location: South-East Brussels
On-site Policy: 3 days on-site / 2 days remote
Contract Length: 6–12 months
Start Date: Within the next 4 weeks
We are seeking a highly experienced Freelance Head of Accounting to take over from the current interim and provide strong financial leadership during a key transition period. This is a senior-level assignment suited to a hands-on professional with experience operating within multi-site structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Full ownership of the accounting function, reporting directly to the CFO
Managing and developing a team of 8 accounting professionals
Overseeing multiple entities and ensuring smooth integration across the structure
Reviewing, optimising, and strengthening accounting processes and controls
Ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance
Acting as a strategic partner to leadership during organisational change
Profile:
Senior interim finance professional with proven experience in complex, multi-entity environments
Strong background in integration projects and process improvement
Hands-on yet strategic leadership style
Fluent in Dutch (French is a strong advantage)
This assignment offers the opportunity to lead a well-established accounting team while playing a key role in strengthening and structuring the finance function during an important phase of development.
