Role Overview
As a Graduate Transport Planner, you will support senior colleagues in delivering a wide range of transport planning and infrastructure projects. This role provides an excellent foundation for developing technical expertise, with involvement in data collection and analysis, transport modelling, and report writing. You will contribute to key project deliverables such as Transport Assessments and Travel Plans, while building core skills in a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans to support planning applications.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret transport data using tools such as TRICS, TEMPro, and Excel.
- Support junction capacity analysis using industry-standard software, including Junctions 10 (ARCADY/PICADY) and LinSig.
- Contribute to the production of plans and technical drawings using GIS or AutoCAD (training provided where required).
- Undertake research into transport policy, local development plans, and planning frameworks.
- Participate in site visits and assist with transport surveys.
- Attend project meetings and support client communications under the guidance of senior team members.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- A degree (or expected degree) in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- A genuine interest in sustainable transport, infrastructure, and emerging mobility solutions.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and develop.
Development & Career Progression
This role is designed to support your professional growth. While not required at entry level, the following skills and experience will be developed over time:
- Familiarity with key transport planning tools such as TRICS, TEMPro, Junctions 10, and LinSig.
- Understanding of UK planning policy and local transport frameworks.
- Experience using spatial and design software such as GIS and AutoCAD to produce technical outputs and visualisations.
