Company Overview
Our client, based in the Antwerp/Limburg region, is undertaking several ongoing digital and process optimisation initiatives. They are looking to engage an experienced Functional Analyst on a long-term freelance basis to support functional design, process analysis and system enhancement activities.
Role Overview
The Functional Analyst will act as a key link between business stakeholders and technical teams, converting business requirements into structured functional specifications. You will analyse processes, model workflows using UML/BPMN and support the full software development lifecycle from discovery through delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements and convert them into detailed functional specifications.
- Model and document system processes using UML and BPMN standards.
- Develop user stories, use cases, data flows and process documentation.
- Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the entire SDLC.
Requirements (Qualifications / Skills & Experience)
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Functional Analyst or similar role.
- Strong, proven expertise in UML and BPMN (mandatory).
- Skilled in requirements engineering and documentation techniques.
- Fluent in English and Dutch.
Desirable:
- Experience working in multi-site or enterprise-scale environments.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks.

- Location: Antwerp/Limburg Region (Hybrid – 3 remote days / 1 day Limburg / 1 day Brussels)
- Contract Duration: Freelance – 12 months+
- Start Date: ASAP
- Languages: Dutch & English required
