Freelance System Architect – Aerospace (South Germany)

Project Overview:
A leading aerospace client based in southern Germany is seeking a Freelance System Architect to support a long-term avionics program. The focus is on Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) and multi-core domain architectures, with strict adherence to aerospace safety and certification standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead system architecture design for IMA-based platforms.
- Define and manage system-level requirements in compliance with ARP4754A and DO-178C.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and safety teams to ensure seamless integration across multi-core environments.
- Support verification and validation activities aligned with aerospace certification standards.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architectural consistency and traceability.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a System Architect in aerospace or safety-critical domains.
- Strong knowledge of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) and multi-core processor architectures.
- Deep understanding of DO-178C, ARP4754A, and related standards.
- Experience with system modelling tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Capella, SysML).
- Familiarity with requirement management tools (e.g., DOORS).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are highly desirable.
- Long-term project with strategic importance.
- Flexible freelance engagement with a mix of remote and onsite work.
