Freelance Simulation Expert – Defence Systems

Project Overview:

Join a cutting-edge defence robotics program focused on robotic systems and simulation. You will design and build the simulation infrastructure that underpins development, testing, and scaling of autonomous robotic platforms. Your work will enable robust experimentation, realistic sensing, and a smooth transition from simulation to real hardware.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design modular simulation architectures supporting multiple fidelity levels.
  • Build stable simulation interfaces decoupling autonomy software from simulation backends.
  • Enable large-scale multi-agent simulation environments.
  • Support software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) workflows.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience designing or extending simulation systems.
  • Strong background in system-level design and architecture, including stable interfaces and abstractions.
  • Proficiency in modern C++.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with robotics or physical system modeling.
  • Familiarity with large-scale or multi-agent systems.
  • Solid understanding of determinism, reproducibility, and testing in complex software environments.
  • Experience with NVIDIA Isaac simulation platform (highly desirable).

  • Work Pattern: 4 days onsite in Central Germany, 1 day remote.
