Senior Automation/Control Engineer
We are looking for a senior engineer with strong offshore experience to lead the concept and basic design of automation and control systems for complex mechanical equipment. This is a senior-level systems engineering role focused on translating mechanical working principles into clear, structured functional design specifications that guide software development.
Responsibilities
-Lead the concept and basic design of automation and control systems for offshore mechanical equipment.
-Translate mechanical and mechatronic working principles into clear Functional Design Specifications (FDS) for software development.
-Decompose complete systems into logical subsystems and define their control architecture and interfaces.
-Coordinate with subcontractors and review software deliverables to ensure compliance and functional requirements.
-Develop and execute verification and validation plans, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
Requirements
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related technical field.
-Senior-level experience in offshore automation/control systems.
-Proven experience writing Functional Design Specifications and translating mechanical principles into control philosophies.
-Strong Systems engineering mindset with the ability to structure complex systems into automation and software subsystems.
-Experience with FAT/SAT processes and hands-on validation of designed equipment; PLC programming experience is not required, but a solid understanding of control logic and software structure is essential.
