Freelance .NET Backend Developer (Dutch-Speaking)

We are looking for an experienced Freelance .NET Backend Developer to join a multidisciplinary development team working on modern cloud-native applications. You will play a hands-on role in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable backend services while contributing to the continuous improvement of development practices.
This assignment is ideal for a developer who enjoys writing high-quality code, working with modern Azure technologies, and leveraging AI-assisted development techniques to improve productivity and software quality.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using .NET and C#
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Develop automated unit and integration tests
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Work closely with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical solutions
- Support the deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of cloud-based applications
- Identify opportunities to improve processes using AI-powered development tools where appropriate
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience developing backend applications with .NET and C#
- Experience building microservices and REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency with GitHub and modern Git workflows
- Experience writing automated tests and maintaining high code quality
- Good understanding of software architecture and design principles
- Business-minded individual
- AI experience (preffered) – Experience with AI-assisted software development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Azure AI services)
- Knowledge of containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) – (Preferred)
