Freelance Data & BI Team Coordinator (Lead)

Overview

Our client is looking for a hands‑on Freelance Data & BI Team Coordinator who will combine operational team leadership with practical technical work, supporting a growing data function with increased workload expected in Q2.

 

Key Responsibilities

Team Coordination & Leadership

  • Oversee the daily operation of the Data & BI team.
  • Lead and manage the team, including skills development and training planning, in close collaboration with the IT Manager.
  • Use operations‑management tools to ensure KPI and SLA targets are met.
  • Plan resources and capacity; identify and implement process improvements where needed.
  • Ensure strong governance of risks and minimise operational issues.
  • Maintain effective communication with key business stakeholders.
  • Manage the BAU workload: incidents, problems, requests.

Project & Change Responsibilities

  • Participate in planning, designing, integration, testing, and implementing key projects and process changes.
  • Work with project managers to ensure alignment of priorities and workload.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across the data and analytics environment.

Technical Hands‑On Work

  • Contribute directly to engineering tasks across the team’s tech stack.
  • Support ETL, reporting, automation, and platform improvements.
  • Maintain and enhance reporting and data flows.

Required Technical Skills

Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following:

  • Python
  • SQL
  • AWS Glue
  • AWS Redshift
  • Shiny Server (Open Source)
  • SSRS & Power BI
  • ETL processes
  • Azure DevOps and Kanban‑driven development/management
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
