Freelance AI Engineer –

Length: (12-Month Contract)
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (2 days on-site, 3 days remote)
Language: English (required), Dutch (nice to have)

About the Role –

An Amsterdam based organization is seeking an experienced Freelance AI Engineer to support the development and deployment of advanced AI capabilities. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to build production-grade AI systems, focusing on Building AI for production, prompt engineering, generative AI applications, entity extraction, and intelligent document retrieval.

Required Skills & Experience –

• Strong experience in AI/ML engineering, NLP, or LLM-based development
• Hands-on experience deploying AI systems in production environments
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks
• Experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and vector databases
• Familiarity with document intelligence, entity extraction, and structured/unstructured data processing
• Strong understanding of modern generative AI models and APIs

Tech Stack –

• Languages: Python, TypeScript (bonus)
• AI/ML: PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI/Anthropic APIs
• Pipelines & MLOps: Docker, MLflow
• Cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP

Bonus Skills –

• Dutch language proficiency
• Experience working in hybrid enterprise/AI startup environments
• Knowledge of compliance or regulated-sector AI deployment
• Data & Retrieval: Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Weaviate, Pinecone, FAISS

Contract Details – 
Location: Amsterdam, with remote work flexibility.
Duration: 12 Months, with potential extension based on project needs.
Rate: Competitive freelance daily rate based on experience and qualifications.
