Overview
One of my clients in the fitness industry are preparing to launch a new mobile application. We are looking for an experienced Flutter Developer to join them on an exploratory basis and help define how the app should be built.
This role is not just about coding. You will act as a technical advisor—evaluating requirements, proposing architecture, validating feasibility, and helping us make informed decisions before full-scale development begins.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals, user needs, and product vision
- Lead the technical discovery phase for a new mobile app
- Define and recommend the overall mobile architecture using Flutter
- Design and advise on backend integration (APIs, database structure, data flow)
- Evaluate technical trade-offs and propose best practices
- Produce clear technical documentation and recommendations (e.g. stack decisions, timelines, risks)
- Support early prototyping or proof-of-concept development if required
- Advise on scalability, security, and maintainability for a fitness-focused mobile product
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience building mobile applications with Flutter
- Solid understanding of API development (RESTful APIs)
- Experience working with MySQL or similar relational databases
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience in early-stage or greenfield product development
- Comfortable working independently and communicating technical concepts clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience in the fitness, health, or wellness industry
- Familiarity with mobile app launches and MVP development
