Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Specialist to support a hospital construction project on a freelance basis. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on fire safety compliance, ensuring that all safety plans and documentation align with relevant German fire safety regulations and standards.
This is a remote position requiring availability for approximately one day per week over a 12-month contract period.
Key Responsibilities
Review, develop, and advise on fire safety strategies and documentation for a hospital construction project
Ensure compliance with applicable German fire safety standards and regulations
Provide expert input into fire safety plans, risk assessments, and technical documentation
Liaise with project stakeholders, designers, and consultants as required
Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions
Support project teams with fire safety–related technical queries
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Fire Safety Specialist, Fire Engineer, or similar role within construction projects
Strong knowledge of German fire safety standards and regulatory frameworks (essential)
Experience working on healthcare or hospital construction projects (highly desirable)
Fluent English speaker and writer (essential)
German language skills are a bonus but not essential (all safety plans are written in English)
Ability to work independently in a remote freelance capacity
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
