Interim Finance Manager (9 months)
Location: South Wales (Hybrid working)
Contract: Interim, full time (35 hours per week)
Rate: Competitive
A Housing Association in South Wales is looking for an experienced Interim Finance Manager to provide leadership and stability to the finance team during a period of transition. This is a 9-month contract, offering the opportunity to make a real impact in a highly regarded organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accuracy across purchase ledger, sales ledger, cash management, and payroll.
Oversee the preparation of management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and year-end processes.
Manage, mentor, and support a small team of finance staff, driving high standards and continuous improvement.
Act as a key point of contact for auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Implement process improvements to strengthen controls and enhance efficiency.
Provide financial insight and guidance to senior management, supporting informed decision-making.
Requirements:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar leadership role.
Strong knowledge of management accounting, financial controls, and statutory reporting.
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
Experience within housing, not-for-profit, or wider public sector desirable but not essential.
