Business Controller (6-Month Contract – Hybrid – Ghent)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Controller for a 6‑month assignment with a leading organisation in Ghent. In this role, you will act as a key financial partner to management, support project teams, and deliver accurate financial insights. Experience with project controlling is a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyse, and follow up on budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Perform variance analyses (actuals vs. budget vs. forecast).
- Advise project teams on financial KPIs, cost structures, and project profitability.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Improve controlling processes and optimise reporting workflows.
- Prepare clear presentations and decision‑making documents for management.
- Collaborate closely with accounting, project management, and business stakeholders.
- Apply IFRS principles where relevant (advantage, not required).
Profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and controlling.
- Experience in project controlling is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Experience in an international or complex project‑driven environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
- Fluent in Dutch; good command of English.
- Proactive, hands‑on, and strong communicator.
