Job Description

One of Vivid’s Local Authority client in the North West is recruiting for an Environmental Protection Officer to advise and give guidance on environmental protection matters in their busy pollution team.

Main Duties

  • Carry out the Councils enforcement responsibilities under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 as determined by Environmental Protection Manager in accordance with relevant guidance, procedures and policies.
  • Carry out the Councils enforcement responsibilities under the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1990 and other associated legislation as relevant to the Environmental Protection Section, as determined by the Environmental Protection Manager in accordance with relevant guidance, procedures and policies.
  • Undertake and manage complex investigations in the field of noise nuisance as well as deal with domestic noise issues.
  • Act as a professional and expert witness in the field of acoustics and noise nuisance
  • Reviewing technical noise reports for planning applications etc.

They do not require you to be a qualified EHO but this would be a bonus, if you are an experienced environmental protection/pollution officer with a demonstrated history of working withing a Local Authority environmental protection team then this is the role for you!
