About the Client:
Our client is a large food production company across Europe. 
 
Role Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Project Manager to lead several critical projects at food production sites, including equipment replacements/upgrades (e.g., steam boilers, cooking boilers, freezers etc.) and packaging line automation. You will manage the full project lifecycle – from budgeting and supplier alignment to implementation and commissioning. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage multiple engineering CAPEX projects across food production facilities
• Coordinate replacement and installation of production equipment (freezers, steam boilers, cook kettles, packaging lines, etc.)
• Manage suppliers, request and assess 3–4 quotations per equipment/project, negotiate scope and price
• Define project scope, timeline, and budget — and ensure on-time, in-budget delivery
• Oversee implementation on the shop floor, aligning with internal stakeholders and external contractors
• Ensure technical feasibility, safety compliance, and minimal production disruption
• Act as the link between engineering, production, suppliers, and site management
• Support and guide project teams, escalating issues when necessary, while staying solution- and future-oriented

 
Candidate Requirements:

• 2–10 years of experience in Project Management or Engineering within food, FMCG, industrial manufacturing, or production environments 
• Experience with equipment replacement and automation projects in production settings
• Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach to working with various stakeholders 
• Able to work independently, but also contribute to a wider team setting
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and proactive communication style
• Able to manage the full cycle: from planning and budgeting to execution and implementation
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch (written and spoken), English bonus

Contract Details
Location: On-site in Noord-Holland OR South-Holland site depending on preference
Duration: 6-12 months + potential extension based on project needs.
Rate: Competitive freelance daily rate based on experience and qualifications.
