Embedded Edge AI Engineer (Building Automation)
About the Role
We are looking for an Embedded Edge AI Engineer to design and build intelligent automation systems for smart buildings. You will work at the intersection of edge computing, AI, and industrial control systems to create reliable, real-time solutions for building environments.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and deploy AI models on edge/embedded devices for building automation
- Design and implement control systems for HVAC, lighting, and energy optimization
- Integrate sensors, PLCs, and building management systems (BMS)
- Work with industrial communication protocols (e.g. BACnet, Modbus)
- Build reliable, real-time systems that operate in safety-critical environments
- Optimize performance of edge devices (latency, power, reliability)
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and infrastructure teams
- Troubleshoot and improve system performance in live environments
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, R&D, or industrial automation
- Experience with building systems (BMS), system integrators, or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (BACnet, Modbus)
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, safety systems, and hardware interlocks
- Solid understanding of embedded systems and edge computing
- Good networking knowledge (IP-based systems, industrial networks)
- Experience with wireless systems (LoRa is a plus)
- Ability to design robust, reliable systems bridging IT and OT
