About the Role
You will play a key role in the planning, design, and optimisation of overhead transmission lines, supporting both national and international grid projects. The position requires strong technical capability in overhead line mechanics and routing, as well as experience using specialised OHL engineering software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform seilmechanische Berechnungen for new and existing overhead transmission lines
- Develop and optimise Trassierungen für Freileitungen, ensuring technical and environmental compliance
- Use Seil++ and FM-Profil for modelling, analysis, and documentation
- Prepare technical drawings, calculation reports, and design documentation
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and asset owners
- Ensure compliance with German and international standards (e.g., DIN, EN, IEC)
- Support feasibility studies, route optimisation, and risk assessments
Requirements:
Essential
- Degree or background in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field
- Proven experience with:
- Seilmechanische Berechnung
- Trassierung / OHL routing
- Seil++
- FM-Profil
- Strong understanding of overhead line design and grid infrastructure
- Fluent German (written and spoken)
Nice to Have
- Experience with GIS tools
- Familiarity with PLS-CADD or similar OHL design software
- Knowledge of HV and EHV transmission networks
