A local authority in the North West is seeking an experienced Interim Electoral Services Officer to support the delivery of electoral registration and election processes during a busy operational period.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and highly organised professional with previous electoral services experience to join a collaborative team and ensure statutory deadlines and legal requirements are met.


The Role

You will support the Electoral Services team with:

  • Delivery of elections and referendums to strict legislative deadlines

  • Annual canvass planning and administration

  • Managing and maintaining accurate electoral register data

  • Handling complex and sensitive data in line with GDPR requirements

  • Responding to elector enquiries professionally and efficiently

  • Supporting compliance processes, election expenses and FOI requests

  • Liaising with political parties, candidates and internal stakeholders

  • Assisting with training and supervision of temporary election staff


About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in Electoral Services within a UK local authority

  • Has strong working knowledge of electoral legislation and processes

  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Is confident managing large volumes of information under pressure
