Our client is a leading international refining and energy company, With a strong commitment to safety, innovation, and environmental responsibility. They are currently seeking experienced professionals to support multiple ongoing E&I projects that enhance operational safety, reliability, and efficiency across their Irish refinery operations.
 

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced E&I Project Manager with a strong background in Instrumentation and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) management, particularly with ATEX and functional safety expertise.

The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects for various clients in the petrochemical industry (petrochemical refineries in particular), ensuring safe, efficient, and timely execution of electrical and instrumentation scopes. This is a fully on-site role, ideal for a hands-on project manager who thrives in dynamic industrial environments.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage E&I project execution from initiation through completion across multiple client sites.

• Oversee instrumentation design, installation, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with ATEX and functional safety standards.

• Drive health and safety initiatives and ensure all work adheres to HSE regulations and site-specific safety protocols.

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, and construction.

• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

• Review and approve technical documentation and ensure alignment with project specifications.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures in line with safety and project objectives.

• Report project status to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and timely communication.

• Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project success.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the petrochemical or refinery industry, preferably within Europe.

• Proven background in project management within electrical and instrumentation (E&I) disciplines.

• Strong understanding of ATEX, functional safety (SIL), and HSE management systems.

• Hands-on experience with health and safety instrumentation and compliance processes.

• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and stakeholder interfaces.

• Fluent in English.

• Availability to start within 1–6 weeks in Ireland and commit to a 12–24 month placement
