Role Overview:
Our client, a leading organisation within the IT sector, is looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) Solution Architect to support the design and evolution of their D365 F&O landscape.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of functional and technical D365 F&O expertise, with particular experience across Supply Chain Management. You will be responsible for translating business requirements into scalable solutions, defining architecture, and ensuring that the D365 F&O platform aligns with wider business and technology objectives.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, developers, technical teams and other architects to deliver robust and sustainable solutions.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Define and oversee end-to-end solution architectures within the Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations ecosystem.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable D365 F&O solutions.
• Provide architectural guidance across Supply Chain Management and other relevant D365 F&O modules.
• Analyse existing processes and systems and identify opportunities for optimisation and standardisation.
• Design solutions that balance functional requirements, technical feasibility, performance, security and maintainability.
• Work closely with functional consultants and developers to ensure that solution designs are correctly implemented.
• Provide guidance on D365 F&O configuration, integrations, extensions and customisations.
• Ensure solutions follow Microsoft best practices and appropriate architecture and governance principles.
• Assess the impact of proposed changes across the wider D365 F&O ecosystem.
• Support integration and data architecture discussions involving D365 F&O and surrounding applications.
• Review technical and functional designs and challenge solutions where appropriate.
• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Contribute to architectural standards, documentation and long-term platform strategy.

Required Skills & Experience
Required

• Strong professional experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
• Proven experience as a D365 F&O Solution Architect, Technical Architect or Senior Functional/Technical Consultant.
• Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Management within D365 F&O, including areas such as procurement, inventory, warehouse management, logistics and/or planning.
• Broad functional understanding of the wider D365 F&O platform, including Finance and other core modules.
• Strong technical understanding of D365 F&O architecture, integrations, extensions and customisation principles.
• Ability to understand both business processes and technical architecture rather than operating solely within one discipline.
• Experience translating business requirements into high-quality solution designs.
• Experience working with developers, functional consultants, business analysts and enterprise architects.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns and the role of D365 F&O within a wider enterprise application landscape.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Power Platform and integration with D365 F&O.
• Knowledge of Azure integration services and cloud architecture.
• Experience with D365 F&O implementation, transformation or optimisation programmes.
• Experience working within large-scale or complex enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft architecture and implementation best practices.
• Previous experience within the IT or technology sector.
