Job Title – Detavast Data Engineer (4-6 years experience)
Employment type: Detavast (secondment)
Location: Dordrecht (hybrid – 3 days per week on-site)
Hours: 32–40 hours per week
Level: Medior/Senior

Company Overview:

The Data & Analytics team supports multiple business units across the organisation, enabling data-driven decision-making in both core operations and corporate functions such as Finance, Procurement, and HR. The team operates a modern data, BI, and AI platform that serves the wider business.


Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to own and develop a defined data domain within an enterprise data platform. You will translate business requirements into scalable data solutions, build and maintain data pipelines, and ensure data quality, security, and reliability in close collaboration with product owners and technical teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage a specific data domain and its source systems
  • Translate business and product requirements into data solutions
  • Build, maintain, and optimise data pipelines and data models
  • Ensure data quality, performance, security, and scalability
  • Deliver datasets and reporting to support data product owners
  • Work in line with development, security, and governance standards

Requirements:
Essential

  • 4+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer
  • Strong SQL and Python experience
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, PySpark, Azure Data Factory, and Azure data services
  • Solid data modelling and data warehousing experience (e.g. Kimball)
  • Strong communication skills in English

Desirable

  • Experience with real-time or event-driven data processing
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Exposure to IoT data and/or time-series databases
