Contract Quality Manager (Defence / Aerospace / Space)
Location: South Bavaria, Germany (Hybrid)
Contract Length: 6 months initial

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to support a complex engineering programme operating within a V‑Model development environment. This role is strongly focused on quality management activities rather than hands‑on design, and requires prior experience within defence, aerospace, or space programmes.
The successful candidate will work closely with systems, hardware, and software teams to ensure quality processes are defined, executed, and documented throughout the development lifecycle.
The role is hybrid: onsite presence in South Bavaria will be required for workshops, reviews, and key meetings, while documentation and preparation work can be completed remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute quality management activities across the V‑Model lifecycle
- Perform and facilitate FMEA (System, Hardware, and Process‑level)
- Develop and maintain Quality Plans and Development Plans
- Support test planning and verification strategy from a quality perspective
- Contribute to reliability engineering activities in collaboration with engineering teams
- Define, implement, and improve quality processes and methodologies
- Ensure compliance with applicable defence / aerospace / space standards (e.g. project‑specific or organisational)
- Own and produce high‑quality technical and quality documentation
- Support audits, reviews, and internal quality gates
- Participate in onsite workshops and stakeholder meetings as required
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager / Quality Engineer on defence, aerospace, or space programmes
- Strong working knowledge of the V‑Model development framework
- Hands‑on experience with:
- FMEA
- Development & quality planning
- Test planning & verification processes
- Reliability engineering from a quality standpoint
- Process definition and governance
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- Comfortable working in multi‑disciplinary engineering environments
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
Desirable
- German language capability
- Experience working with international or regulated programmes
- Prior contract or consultancy experience
