We’re working with a leading company in the renewable energy sector, looking for a Data Scientist to help shape their modern data platform. You’ll have the chance to work within a forward-thinking analytics and technology team, and have the opportunity to design and build high-performance data systems that directly power real-time decision-making in the energy market.
You’ll take the lead in building and evolving a modern cloud-based data platform from the ground up. Using AWS and PySpark, you’ll architect data solutions that handle complex datasets – including real-time operational data and external sources such as weather feeds.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop a cloud data platform utilizing modern data lake and warehousing principles.
- Develop and maintain ingestion frameworks for diverse APIs and streaming data sources, ensuring near real-time delivery.
- Create efficient data models to support both high-frequency operational queries and large-scale analytical workloads.
- Work hand-in-hand with software engineers to integrate data solutions into production systems.
- Partner with users to deliver reliable data pipelines that feed visualization and reporting tools like Grafana and QuickSight.
Your Profile
- Strong experience with AWS.
- Hands-on expertise with PySpark and distributed data processing.
- Proficiency in Python and modern data engineering practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science
- Solid grasp of data modelling, orchestration, and pipeline automation.
- Background or keen interest in the energy or commodities sector is a strong advantage.
