Role Overview
As a Data Engineer, you will support both new and existing clients in designing, building, and optimizing data platforms, AI applications, and reporting environments. You will work primarily within the Azure ecosystem and serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms and data pipelines
- Develop and optimize ETL processes and data models
- Implement AI-driven applications and reporting solutions
- Work with Azure technologies such as Databricks, Synapse, Fabric, and Azure Functions
- Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and clear documentation
Requirements
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases
- Hands-on experience with Python (e.g., Pandas, Polars, DuckDB)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and data modelling principles
Essential (Optional)
- Experience within the Azure ecosystem
- Strong communication skills and ability to bridge business and IT
- Analytical mindset with a focus on technical excellence
Desirable (Optional)
- Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
- Knowledge of Databricks and Azure Synapse
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (YAML, Terraform, Bicep)
- Experience in a consulting or client-facing role
