Damp and Mould Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and address damp and mould issues in private sector homes.
  • Provide expert advice to tenants, landlords, and agents on housing matters.
  • Investigate complaints regarding housing conditions related to damp and mould.
  • Conduct Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) inspections.
  • Issue and serve statutory enforcement notices.
  • Oversee building works and manage associated contracts.
  • Prepare case files for prosecutions and civil penalties; represent the council in court and tribunals.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in emergency planning and perform evening or weekend inspections when required.

What You’ll Need:

  • Expertise in damp and mould hazards, remedial techniques, building construction, housing law, and investigative procedures.
  • Experience in property inspections, developing solutions, writing specifications, and supervising building contracts.
  • Conflict management skills and a full UK driving license are essential.
