Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and address damp and mould issues in private sector homes.
- Provide expert advice to tenants, landlords, and agents on housing matters.
- Investigate complaints regarding housing conditions related to damp and mould.
- Conduct Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) inspections.
- Issue and serve statutory enforcement notices.
- Oversee building works and manage associated contracts.
- Prepare case files for prosecutions and civil penalties; represent the council in court and tribunals.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in emergency planning and perform evening or weekend inspections when required.
What You’ll Need:
- Expertise in damp and mould hazards, remedial techniques, building construction, housing law, and investigative procedures.
- Experience in property inspections, developing solutions, writing specifications, and supervising building contracts.
- Conflict management skills and a full UK driving license are essential.
