Conservation Officer – Interim Role – Midlands (Northwest Leicestershire)
Contract length: 6 months
Start date: As soon as possible
Rate: £35–£42 per hour (depending on experience)
Office presence: Hybrid, with site visits across the district as required
Vivid Resourcing are currently working with a district council in Northwest Leicestershire whose growing planning team are seeking to hire a Conservation Officer on a 6-month contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist heritage advice, assessing planning and listed building consent applications, and offering guidance on the impact of development on heritage assets and conservation areas.
The role also includes preparing formal heritage comments and supporting the council with any enforcement or appeal matters involving heritage issues.
Candidates must have recent UK local authority experience in conservation, strong technical knowledge of listed buildings and conservation legislation, and the ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
A driving licence is required for site visits.
